TERMS & CONDITIONS

Contract

• These Terms and Conditions, as well as our price list set out the entire agreement are between you and By The Way Hostel & Campsite.
• Please check that the details in these Terms and your Booking are complete and accurate before you make a Booking.
• We reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions, and any such changes will take effect immediately when posted on the Website, You are bound to these changes when making a booking.

Making a Booking

• You can either book online, via email, via the telephone number displayed on Our Website or in person.
• Bookings cannot be transferred to another party.
• When making a booking you agree that you or at least one member of your party is twenty one (21) years or over, you have the authority of all persons in your party to book on their behalf, you accept these Terms & Conditions and you agree to be responsible for any loss or damage caused by any member of your party.
• You must be able to provide proof of booking on arrival, either a printed confirmation or a screen shot on a mobile device.

Accommodation

• In all the huts you would need your own bedding, as well as all cooking/eating utensils.
• If you are camping, we do not allow tents any bigger than a regular two man backpacking tent (you would not be able to stand up in the tent).
• There is a “pot wash” area where you can wash dishes. There is also a two ring electric hob, kettle and microwave.
• Laundry facilities are provided and coupons are for sale in the shop. The washing machine and dryer are in the “pot wash” room.
• Please note, if you have a booking for a tent pitch or hut you do not have access to the hostel. If you know people staying in the hostel, you are still not allowed to have access to the hostel. This topic is also covered in our “Rules” section. The reason for this rule is due to Insurance & Safety Regulations.
• WiFi is free in all accommodation. At times the WiFi may be slow or there may be connection difficulties. We have no control over any of these situations, and as the service is not charged for, we cannot take any responsibility.

4. Rules

• We reserve the right of admission. We expect all customers to be respectful to others, as well as to the environment.
• All children must be closely supervised by an adult.
• We welcome dogs as long as they are kept on leads at all times and not left unattended. We expect dog owners to clean up all dog mess and dispose in the correct manner.
• There must be no loud or disrupting noise after 22:00 before 08:00. This includes music and musical instruments.
• Please leave all accommodation in the condition you found it when checking in. You will be liable for any damages or excess cleaning caused to any of our property and will be charged.
• We only allow tents that are no bigger than regular two man backpacking tents (you should not be able to stand up in the tent).
• The drying room is only for wet outdoor items, such as boots, jackets, gaiters, gloves etc. It is not for sleeping bags or tents. If sleeping bags and tents are found in the drying room they will be removed. Also, we have a tumble dryer for washing, so once again, the drying room is not to be used for drying laundry. Any items that are put in the drying room is the responsibility of the customer.
• No fireworks, BBQs, open fires or Chinese lanterns.
• No hen/stag parties or weddings.
• Drunk, disorderly or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated towards other customers or staff. We reserve the right to ask you to leave, should this occur, and you will not receive a refund.
• We cannot accept responsibility for your possessions or any personal injury of any kind
• Check in is not before 14:00, Check out is by 10:00 on your departure day promptly, unless a late check out has been agreed..
• You must leave a gap of 5m between all tents. This is a legal requirement. You may be asked to move your tent/unit if pitched too close to another.
• We do not allow open fires of any sort inside your tent/unit due to the high risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
• You must keep to the 5mph speed limit on our site for your own and other peoples’ safety.
• You must take large items of rubbish away with you i.e. broken, tents, cardboard, chairs etc. Only general food waste and packaging is to be disposed of in our bins.
• Please note if you have booked multiple accommodations, we have maximum numbers of people we allow in each facility due to fire safety regulations.
• We do not allow any customers to sleep in vehicles, other than motorhomes or campervans. Vans that have been “converted” need to have windows at the sides/back of the van, not just in the passenger/driver area.
• All motorhomes and campervans must park in the designated pitches. We do not allow any vehicles/motorbikes on the grass.
• There is CCTV in operation at all times for safety.
• Please do not plug multiple charges into one socket, as this is dangerous.
• There are sockets in the “pot wash” for campers to charge their phones. We cannot charge phones/battery banks in our office.
• When staying in a hut, please do not leave heaters on if you leave the site.

Prices

• The prices are based on a nightly rate unless otherwise stated. Prices include VAT at the current prevailing rate.
• Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that our prices remain unchanged, they may be amended at any time.
• Prices do not include any additional services, features and facilities unless expressly stated.

Payment

• Credit or debit card payments are preferred in advance of arrival and online. If the booking was not made online then we accept payment by credit or debit card or cash on arrival. We advise that pre-payment is made to reserve your booking, as we cannot guarantee availability to ‘walk in’ customers.

Cancellation, refunds and amendments to your booking

• If you want to change or cancel your booking, you must notify us as soon as possible. Amendments to your booking can be made free of charge if you notify us before the 14 days prior to your Arrival Date.
• We do not offer refunds for cancelled bookings, unless a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is given.
• The full balance of your booking must be paid before arrival.
• We do not accept poor weather as a reason for cancellation/rebooking, unless it is considered as unsafe and risk to public safety i.e. flooding, hurricanes and other extreme weather conditions.

Liability

• Where we are responsible for your loss, Our maximum liability shall be no more than to refund the amount paid by you for your stay.
• As we are located in a rural environment, we do not accept responsibility for any damage, injury or inconvenience caused by plants, trees, wildlife or weather. We advise you to have the relevant insurance for motorhomes, tents, vehicles, possessions etc.
• We do not accept responsibility for anything that adversely affects your stay with us that is outside of our control. We advise you to have suitable travel insurance.

GDPR
• Your data is stored securely and is only used with regards to your booking. Your information will never be passed onto a 3rd party. If you receive an email from us and do not wish to be on our mailing list you can opt out at any time. Payment details are not stored or seen by us and are only used for the purpose of you creating a booking through Stripe. We hold a copy of the 2016 GDPR policy which you are welcome to view.
